Doing Space
We created a doing space in our classroom. This is a place were we "do stuff." Some doing ideas will be added to this web page. Try them out!

Make A Splash
Experiment with how liquids splash!
Materials:
Small Bowl
Watered Down Paint
Small Household Objects
Newspaper
Paint Shirts
Place small bowl of paint in the middle of a large piece of paper (newspaper). Make splash art by dropping small household objects into the paint.
Considerations:
? What did you notice?
? What conclusions can you draw about the objects you used?
Some Science: When you disturb a liquid it moves around in waves and ripples. It may also separate into droplets. The droplets form because liquid likes to cling to itself. The heavier and lumpier an object is, the bigger splash it makes. Light, smooth, think objects make less of a splash because they use less water!
